Normies was a film following my lifelong obsession with the circus, and my constant exploration of the themes about being the other and of an being an individual vs figures of authority/power.

With a limited budget, an actor that had dropped out 2hours before the shoot and limited filmmaking experience as this was one of my first films with a crew bigger than just myself, Normies turned out to be a film I still appreciate the premise and concept of, but of which I regret the execution.

Initially a coloured film with dialogue, I'd re-edited the footage we'd had into a silent, black and white film, helping the pacing of the film and the landing of the punchlines, although there is still a lot that could have been worked on dialogue wise and shots wise. The film fell a little flat, and what I remain proud of are the character designs and concept.

To this day, however, I still turn to Normies to remind me of my actual growth as a writer and director.
